Tips for women business travelers visiting Cincinnati, Ohio and Northern Kentucky for finding a safe hotel or B&B. Additional tips on rush hour and the weather included.

Women business travelers visiting Cincinnati, Ohio can expect to find a bustling city. The Cincinnati airport (CVG) is located in Northern Kentucky, about 15 minutes from downtown Cincinnati, Ohio. Expect to find severe rush hour traffic when visiting Cincinnati. The traffic starts around 7:00 am and lasts until 9:00 am in the morning then starts back up at 3:30 pm and lasts until 6:00 pm in the evening, depending upon whether school is in session and whether there’s a Cincinnati Reds baseball game or Bengals football game. Finding safe places to stay in Northern Kentucky and learning more about the best time to visit Cincinnati can help women business travelers save money and decide what to pack for their trip.

Safe Places to Stay in Northern Kentucky

There are a number of safe places to stay in Northern Kentucky. Women business travelers need to be close to work, out of harm's way and comfortable. If business is being conducted in downtown Cincinnati, there are hotels aplenty, but they can be expensive. Instead of staying in Cincinnati proper, look to Northern Kentucky for a safe place to stay -- you can choose from one of several respected hotel chains or a B&B. There are a number of choices just steps away (literally!) from downtown Cincinnati in Bellevue, Covington and Newport, Kentucky. Unwind after work at one of the many small pubs that populate Northern Kentucky, or enjoy evening strolls and morning power walks alongside the Ohio River.

Northern Kentucky Hotels and Bed and Breakfasts

Safe places to stay in Northern Kentucky that are close to downtown Cincinnati include hotels and B&Bs. Women business travelers looking for hotels that are minutes from downtown Cincinnati enjoy the comfort and convenience of the Radisson Cincinnati Riverview in Covington, the Holiday Inn Express in Bellevue and the Comfort Suites in Newport. Beautiful B&Bs in Northern Kentucky include the Weller Haus in Bellevue, the Amos Shinkle Townhouse Bed & Breakfast in Covington and the Gateway Bed & Breakfast in Newport. Many of the B&Bs in these small, riverside towns aren’t listed, so contact the city for more details.

Best Time of the Year to Visit Cincinnati

The best time of the year to visit Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky is either in the spring or the fall. The weather in Midwest can be severe in the summer and winter months. Hot, humid weather in the summer means anytime you walk outside, you’ll be assaulted by the heat. Ice storms and extremely cold weather can make visiting Cincinnati in the winter treacherous. Pack accordingly, but remember to bring clothes that can easily be layered. Companies counteract the hot summer months with sub-zero air conditioning in conference rooms and restaurants and corporations overcompensate in the winter months with overheated rooms.
