Suite voters dish on where business conferences should take them, given a choice.
The Aug/Sept 2006 poll question was....If you had to attend a business conference or convention, where would you rather go?
Some place tropical, like the Cayman Islands (43.48%)
Island towns got the lion's share of the votes, and no surprises. Who wouldn't want to mix business with the pleasure of a beach vacation? Bring on the Jimmy Buffet and the Pina Coladas!
Someplace hip: San Fran, Seattle, Portland, Santa Fe, Austin, Boulder (39.13%)
This got the second biggest share of the votes, appropriately. Everyone wants to travel to nice towns like these, and may not otherwise make a trip on their own. Business events in these kinds of places are a great excuse to see the country.
Vegas, baby! Or Atlantic City, even (13.04%)
Some people voted for the frantic world of casinos and shows, and I do agree that Vegas is a whole lot of fun in the right situation. It's just a little loud and a lot more smokey than my I prefer as a rule.
Disneyworld and/or Orlando (4.35%)
With very few voters, the Magic Kingdom doesn't seem to appeal so much to business travelers. Is it the screaming kids? Or the scary giant Disney characters lurking on every corner, looking for a hug?
No thanks; I'll stay home (0.00%)
No one wants to stay home, in this day and age? Well, that's heartening. We must be a brave, noble lot, we business travelers. ;-)
