Business TravelBaggage Flight Poll
« Previous 1 2 Next » » desertblue - Baggage Poll results In response to Baggage Poll results posted by JenniferMiner:I have two tactics: I try to travel with just a carry on whenever I can. It makes life much much nicer...I don't handle frustration well. But for the times I can't cram everything into my take on allowance, then I usually go overboard and max out my check-in allowance as well. So it's either all or nothing for me. I've both been admired for my packing restraint (on carry on only trips) and been reviled for my serious overpacking. I choose not too care too much about the latter. If I can't get by with packing light, then I darned well will take everything else along with me. (I'm like that sometimes). -- posted by desertblue

I try to carry everything onboard and avoid checking any other bags. If this does not work out, I try not to check anything I might need within the first couple days of a trip.

I used to almost always take only carry-ons... but now they've gotten so much stricter about size, and we have kids (and all the necessary strollers and other gear you have to bring), so going carry-on only is no longer even an option. I sure wish we could!

In response to Baggage Poll results posted by kelbycarr: I have to wonder about the new restrictions in place for carry-ons. I need to travel a lot in September, hope things calm dowm by then...» desertblue - Baggage Poll results In response to Baggage Poll results posted by asorum:Yeah, Dan is getting a bunch of emails about the new restrictions. He flew on Friday, and they took his lip balm (Burts Bees). Oh well.I bet Lush will do better once things are sorted out - they have actual solid shampoos and conditioners. I don't know how things will end up for carry-ons...I hear talk that everything will have to be checked from now on. That REALLY sucks. ON the other hand, I am so soooo sooooo glad that a major air death disaster was averted. -- posted by desertblue

You know, Burt's Bees also has a bar-soap style shampoo. I've used it camping. It isn't too bad in a pinch.

Oh, and I took the bar shampoo to the hospital with my first labor and delivery. Now, that's a time you really want to be clean but don't have much shower time, and it was perfect for that purpose. I mean, it was going to be a bad hair day no matter what, but it sure did clean well. » danflorio - Baggage Poll results In response to Baggage Poll results posted by kelbycarr:You all know probably at this point that you can bring your bathroom stuff, wet stuff in a quart ziplock baggie (for carry-on bags). Bottles have to be 3 ounces or less. And you have to take your bag out and put it on the Xray conveyor by itself. Shoes, coat, laptop, baggie, boarding pass, everything goes through visibly. Step forward, take trays, shut up. It's like learning the Soup Nazi routine from Seinfeld. -- posted by danflorio » hahaha84 - Baggage Poll results In response to Baggage Poll results posted by danflorio:
